Police Department Announces Expansion of Predictive Technology in Austin
Chicago Police Department (CPD) Superintendent Eddie Johnson today announced the expansion of CPD’s new predictive policing strategy to the 15th (Austin) police district on the west side. The strategy – which has already been deployed in five other south and west side police districts – makes district intelligence the driver of Chicago’s crime fight by using new technology to help police get ahead of crime and prevent violence from happening in the first place. On May 04, 2017 at, at approximately 7:30 a.m., the 12 year-old minor victim was walking on the 400 block of North Cicero. The unknown offender was standing in the alley and walked closer towards the victim. The offender looked up and down at the victim and said “hey, hey, come here”.
