Adequately training officers in crisis intervention techniques to handle behavioral or mental health crises effectively and respectfully. Promoting safety in police interactions and reducing the need to use force.

Supervision

Equipping CPD supervisors to better train and monitor their officers, ensuring accountability and addressing adverse behavior. Consistently implementing performance evaluations to pinpoint both commendable and concerning behaviors, promoting public safety and trust.

Use of Force

The department has outlined specific use of force techniques and tools officers can use, always prioritizing the sanctity of life by providing immediate aid to anyone injured. In addition, CPD ensures transparent communication pathways for the community to comment on these policies.
