South Shore Duo Arrested for Human Trafficking
Anthony Harris, 31 and Charmaine Latrice Renfro, 39 were arrested after they were identified as the persons that forced an 18 year old female into prostitution and held her against her will. With the help of a witness, the victim was able to contact the police on March 19, 2016. Further investigation led investigators to the 2800 block of E. 78th St. Harris and Renfro were arrested and charged accordingly. Offender Charged with Three Counts of Aggravated Battery
Pierre Stokes was arrested after he was identified as the person who fired a weapon multiple times striking three victims. This incident occurred on March 8, 2016 at approximately 5:40 p.m. in the 7900 block of South Ashland Avenue. Officers arrived to the location after a call of battery in progress and during their investigation found a male, 31, with a gunshot wound to the left forearm and a male, 30, with a gunshot wound to the right arm. This alert gives notice to residents of the 4th District (South Chicago) of two robberies involving similarly described offenders. Community Alert – 22nd District – Armed Robberies (P16-2-020)
This alert gives notice to residents of the Morgan Park (22nd) District, in the East Beverly neighborhood of two recent Armed Robbery incidents that occurred on February 25 & March 1, 2016. In both of these incidents, two unknown male offenders approach a male victim walking alone. The offenders either display a handgun or pretend they have one by placing their hand in their sweatshirt, and demand the victim’s property. Between Feb 12, 2016 and Feb 18, 2016, on three occasions, taxi cabs arrived at locations in the 6600 block of South Honore and Wolcott, at which time the drivers were robbed at gun point.
