Chicago Lawn Man Charged in Homicide
Giovanni Garcia, 20 was arrested in connection to a fatal shooting incident that occurred on the 5400 block of S. Karlov on April 8, 2016 at approximately 7:00 p.m. during which he shot a 23-year-old female victim while she was seated in the passenger compartment of a vehicle. The victim was transported to Mt. Juvenile Charged in Bank Robbery
13 Apr 16 Juvenile Charged in Bank Robbery A male juvenile was placed into custody after he was positively identified as the offender who entered a bank located on the 6100 block of S. Archer Ave, displayed a handgun and demanded money before fleeing on foot. This incident occurred on April 12, 2016 at approximately 4:15 p.m. The juvenile was charged accordingly and will appear in Juvenile Court (1100 S. Hamilton) on April 14, 2016. Ashburn Man Charged in String of Boost Mobile Robberies
Dionte Smith, 21 was identified through latent prints and victim identification in three armed robberies of Boost Mobile stores. These incidents occurred in the 5100 block of S. Kedzie Ave. on March 31, 2016 at 12:50 p.m.; 6400 block of S. Pulaski Ave., on March 31, 2016 at 8:50 p.m.; and the 6600 block of S. Cicero Ave., on April 2, 2016 at 2:22 p.m. Smith was charged accordingly. Click here for more information

Interim Superintendent Johnson Orders Targeted Organized Crime Raid to Further Disrupt South Side Gang Violence
CHICAGO – The Chicago Police Department’s Bureau of Organized Crime recently conducted a targeted mission to combat crime and violence in the 7th (Englewood), 8th(Chicago Lawn) and 9th(Deering) Districts.
