This alert gives notice to residents of the 17th, 20th and 24th District of eight Robberies that occurred in the late evening to early morning hours of December 2015. The Robberies occurred on the sidewalk, alley and streets. Multiple offenders exited a vehicle and approached the victim and displayed a handgun and demanded property. Mayor Emanuel, Superintendent McCarthy Launch Police Recruitment Campaign
Mayor Rahm Emanuel and Superintendent Garry McCarthy today announced that the City is accepting applications to join the Chicago Police Department for the first time since 2013. The starting salary for Chicago police officers is $47,604 and increases to $72,510 after eighteen months of employment. The application period is now open, and will close at the end of the day on Wednesday December 16, 2015. A written exam will be administered in February 2016 to those who apply. Community Alert – 14th, 17th & 25th Districts – Robberies (P15-N-227)
There have been three related Robberies in the 14th, 17th, and 25th Districts. In these cases, one male and one female offender approach the victims, display a silver colored handgun and demand property. In one case, the offenders fire the weapon, which is actually a BB gun, striking the victim in the eye. The offenders flee in a Black Honda Coupe, driven by a third offender.
