Chicago Police and City Officials Close Nightclub in the Interest of Public Safety
The Chicago Police Department, working in conjunction with the City of Chicago’s Department of Business Affairs and the office of 2nd Ward Alderman Brian Hopkins, has concluded an investigation which will result in the immediate, temporary closure of a licensed nightclub establishment in the 14th(Shakespeare) District. Business Alert – 14th District – Commercial Burglaries (P15-N-279)
Burglaries in which the offender targeted high-end clothing stores have occurred in the 014th District (Shakespeare) on the 1700 block of North Damen Avenue from November 21 – December 3, 2015. The offenders made forcible entry to a clothing store and removed a large quantity of merchandise. A cash register was also stolen. The burglaries were captured on surveillance video. Mayor Emanuel, Superintendent McCarthy Launch Police Recruitment Campaign
Mayor Rahm Emanuel and Superintendent Garry McCarthy today announced that the City is accepting applications to join the Chicago Police Department for the first time since 2013. The starting salary for Chicago police officers is $47,604 and increases to $72,510 after eighteen months of employment. The application period is now open, and will close at the end of the day on Wednesday December 16, 2015. A written exam will be administered in February 2016 to those who apply.
