Thank you for visiting the Chicago Police Department’s public comment forum for the Interactions with Persons who are Deaf, DeafBlind, or Hard of Hearing directive. This draft revises and will replace the appropriate sections of CPD’s existing directive: Special Order S02-01-01″People with Disabilities” with a previous effective date of 24 June 2016. As part of our ongoing mission to grow trust within the communities we serve, CPD again invites the community to review and provide feedback on the revised Interactions with Persons who are Deaf, DeafBlind, or Hard of Hearing directive beginning March 11, 2025 through March 31, 2025. After the comment period concludes, CPD will review the additional feedback received to guide future revisions to the drafts. CPD will consider your comments before finalizing the directive.
