This draft is a revision to CPD’s existing directive: Department Notice D19-01, “Firearm Pointing Incidents” with a previous effective date of 01 October 2019. As part of our ongoing mission to grow trust within the communities we serve, CPD again invites the community to review and provide feedback on the revised Firearm Pointing Incidents directive beginning March 11, 2025 through March 31, 2025. After the comment period concludes, CPD will review the additional feedback received to guide future revisions to the drafts. CPD will consider your comments before finalizing the directive.
