Community Alert – 2nd District – Public Indecency (HY537810)
This alert gives notice to residents of the 002nd District (Wentworth) of a Public Indecency incident. On Wednesday, December 15th, 2015, on the 4700 block of South Ellis at approximately 9:40am, a female minor was walking to school when an unknown offender, exposed his genitals to the female minor. Englewood Man Charged with Murder
Demarco Bennett was arrested after he was identified as the man who fired shots at a 26 year old man, fatally striking him. This incident occurred on December 13, 2015 in the 7200 block of S. May St. at approximately 10:05 a.m. Bennett fired shots at the victim as he was outside. He then fled the scene in a vehicle at a high rate of speed. December 12, 2015 Commander Mark Harmon and the 022nd District decided that it should be about “Giving to Others in the Community” when celebrating Beat 2234’s Christmas Party. The District adopted families from nearby Schoop Elementary from 111th S. Bishop offering a luncheon and gifts to the children. The service to the community did not end there. Community Alert – 22nd District – Theft of Air Conditioning Units (P15-2-124)
This alert gives notice to residents of the Morgan Park (22nd) District of recent theft incidents that occurred in the Mount Greenwood neighborhood on beat 2211. In these incidents, unknown offender(s) have entered the backyards of residences and have damaged central air conditioning units taking parts, and whole units. This alert gives notice to residents of the 4th District (South Chicago) of two recent armed robberies which have been reported along 93rd Street between Colfax and Manistee. In each incident, the victims were seated in their vehicles when the offenders approached and produced firearms, instructing the victims to exit their respective autos. This alert gives notice to businesses in the 22nd (Morgan Park) District of three recent commercial burglary incidents that occurred in the Roseland neighborhood. The targeted businesses were located on the 10900, 11000, & 11200 blocks of South Halsted Street. In one incident the offender(s) broke the window to the business, then wrapped a chain around the ATM machine, and pulled it out of the business attached to a car.
