Superintendent Johnson Announces Every Police Officer Responding to Calls Now Trained to Use a Taser
Superintendent Eddie Johnson and the Chicago Police Department are announcing today that starting this week every police officer responding to calls is now trained to use a Taser. Additionally, CPD is announcing that the police department’s body-worn camera program has officially expanded, with officers in the 14th District now wearing the cameras while on patrol and officers in the 15th District scheduled to wear the cameras in the next couple weeks. Roseland Man Charged with Aggravated Battery
Willis was arrested and charged after he approached a M/49 victim, uttered a derogatory racial statement, and stabbed the victim in the stomach with a knife. The offender attempted to steal the victim’s wallet but was detained by a witness on scene. The victim was taken to Northwestern Hospital in stable condition. The incident happened on May 22, 2016 at 11:35pm in the 400 block of West Washington St. Officers responded to the scene and placed the offender into custody…

Business Alert – 8th District – Robberies (P16-1-120)
This alert gives notice to businesses in the 8th (Chicago Lawn) District of robbery incidents which have occurred during the month of May 2016. In these incidents, the offender(s) place an order from local food establishments and attempt to pay with counterfeit USC. The offender(s), armed with a handgun, take food and USC from the victims.
