Community Alert – Major Accidents, 24th District – Fatal Hit & Run (HY449557)
On Sunday, October 4, 2015, at approximately 6:52 p.m., a 63-year-old female was struck by a vehicle while crossing the street in the 2300 block of West Howard St. (intersection of Western Avenue and Howard Street). As a result of the crash, the victim sustained fatal injuries. The driver of the striking vehicle fled the scene of the crash without identifying themselves or rendering aid to the victim. Business Alert – 24th District – Commercial Burglaries (P15-N-210)
Commercial burglaries have occurred in the 24th (Rogers Park) District where unknown offender(s) gained entry by throwing a rock or brick through the front or side door window of the establishment to gain entry. The offenders(s) then pry open the cash register and stole cash. In one incident the register was also taken and in another incident a Plexiglas cabinet was forced open. Community Alert – 24th District – Armed Robberies (P15-N-114)
Robberies have occurred in the 24th District during which one or two offender(s) approach the victims on the public way in the early morning hours and display a silver hand gun while verbally demanding that the victims give them everything they have. One incident involved the taking of wallets and phones, and the other incident involved the taking of property and the victim’s vehicle. Click here for more information.

North Side Burglary Offender Charged with Multiple Counts
Marcus Jones was arrested on May 7th, 2015 at approximately 1:37 a.m. in the 1500 Block of W. Morse Ave. Officers responded to a burglary in progress call and located Marcus Jones inside. Jones had a shopping cart filled with various pieces of office equipment and was in possession of a pry bar. Jones was arrested and charged accordingly. South Shore Man Charged in Rogers Park Armed Robbery
Fredrick Warren, 43 was arrested after he was identified as the man who entered a restaurant armed with a knife and demanded money. This incident occurred in the 6400 block on N. Sheridan on April 26, 2015 at approximately 4:50 p.m. No injuries were reported during this incident. Warren was charged accordingly. Click here for more information

About the crime: Burglaries have occurred in the 024th District where an offender(s) entered a residence by punching out the rear door window, prying at the door lock and then kicking in the door.
