Community Alert – 24th District – Attempted Child Luring (HZ233827)
On April 20, 2016, at approximately 6:35 p.m., two juveniles walked past the 6700 block of North Whipple (Chippewa Park) to retrieve a dodge ball that was between fences. An unknown female in the passenger seat of a black SUV type vehicle rolled down her window and said “hi kids, come over here, I have some candy”. This alarmed the juveniles who walked away quickly. Fourth Man Charged with Rogers Park Murder
Armani Bearden was arrested in connection with the murder of a 64 year old man. This incident occurred on the 6500 block of N. Hoyne Avenue on December 10, 2015 at approximately 5:30 p.m. Three others have previously been charged – Shatrata Lehmann, Alexander Robinson and a male juvenile. Bearden was charged accordingly. Business Alert – 24th District – Commercial Burglaries (P16-N-026)
CommercialBurglaruies24thdistrictP16-N-026BA[1] Commercial burglaries have occurred in the 24th District where an unknown offender pried open the rear door to access the business. In one incident the offender then kicked in an interior door and cut through drywall to access the first floor. The security video captured the offender’s movement throughout the store. The offender(s) took a guitar, laptop computer, misc. tools, U.S.C., watches and a ring. Incident times and locations are listed below:

Community Alert – 17th, 20th & 24th Districts – Armed Robberies (P15-N-287)
This alert gives notice to residents of the 17th, 20th and 24th District of eight Robberies that occurred in the late evening to early morning hours of December 2015. The Robberies occurred on the sidewalk, alley and streets. Multiple offenders exited a vehicle and approached the victim and displayed a handgun and demanded property. Evanston Man Charged in Multiple West Ridge Residential Burglaries
Alston Rodriguez, 18 was arrested after officers observed him attempting to illegally enter a residence through a window in the 2100 block of West Rosemont. This incident occurred on December 24, 2015 at approximately 1:00 a.m. Rodriguez was identified as the offender in multiple residential burglaries in the area and officers were able to recover proceeds that included several Christmas gifts. Offender Charged with Criminal Sexual Assault and Armed Robbery
Milton Anderson was arrested and charged in connection to a sexual assault and armed robbery that occurred on the 1400 block of W. Jarvis on December 19, 2015, at approximately 4:40 a.m. Anderson grabbed a 25 year-old female victim from behind as she was walking on the sidewalk. Anderson then displayed a handgun and forced the victim to a secluded area where he robbed and sexually assaulted her. Mayor Emanuel, Superintendent McCarthy Launch Police Recruitment Campaign
Mayor Rahm Emanuel and Superintendent Garry McCarthy today announced that the City is accepting applications to join the Chicago Police Department for the first time since 2013. The starting salary for Chicago police officers is $47,604 and increases to $72,510 after eighteen months of employment. The application period is now open, and will close at the end of the day on Wednesday December 16, 2015. A written exam will be administered in February 2016 to those who apply.
