Community Alert – Major Accidents, 14th District – Hit & Run (HY252998)
MAIU Hit&Run_608 15 008_On Saturday, May 9, 2015 at 3:15 a.m., a bicyclist was struck by the vehicle pictured below. This is a northbound view of Western, Diversey and Elston intersection. The driver of the vehicle did not cause this crash, but did not remain at the scene as is required. The rider of the bicycle sustained very serious personal injuries. The driver of the below pictured vehicle fled the scene of the crash northbound on Western from Diversey.

Humboldt Park Man Charged with 2014 Murder
Kortillious Gipson,23 was arrested after he was identified as the man who chased and shot to death a 36 year old male. This incident occurred in the 4100 block of W. Crystal on July 31, 2014 at approximately 9:25 a.m. The victim was pronounced on the scene. No further information available at this time. Click here for more information

Business Alert – 14th, 19th & 25th Districts – Retail Store Robberies (P15-N-004)
About the Crime: There have been three incidents where retail stores have been the victim of a robbery by an offender armed with a knife. The offender enters a business and acts as if he is making a purchase. Once at the sales counter the offender displays a knife and demands money. Community Alert – Major Accidents, 14th District – Hit & Run (HY208953)
On April 3, 2015 at 1 p.m., a four-door GMC or Chevrolet SUV travelling eastbound on North Avenue struck a 26-year-old bicyclist when the SUV turned northbound onto Talman Avenue. The bicyclist was critically injured and transported to an area hospital. The vehicle was last scene fleeing northbound on Talman Avenue. Click here for more details regarding this Community Alert

Community Alert – 14th District – Robberies (P15-N-037)
This alert gives notice to the residents of the 14th District (Shakespeare) of two Strong Arm Robberies that have occurred in the month of January 2015. In both of these robberies, the female victim was approached from behind and engaged in conversation by an unknown male offender, after which the offender took various personal items from the victim.
