Community Alert – Major Accidents, 8th District – Fatal Hit & Run (HZ120804)
On Tuesday, January 19, 2016, at approximately 2:05 p.m., a 72-year-old female was struck by a vehicle while crossing the street in the 6400 block of South Kedzie Avenue. As a result of the crash, the victim sustained fatal injuries. The driver of the striking vehicle fled the scene of the crash without identifying themselves or rendering aid to the victim. Community Alert – 16th & 25th Districts – Robberies (P16-N-029)
This alert gives notice to recent Strong Armed Robberies that have occurred in the 16th & 25th Districts. The majority of these robberies have occurred in the area from Addison to Diversey, and Narragansett to Sayre. In these robberies, the victims are approached by the offender on foot. The offender then attempts to take the victim’s purse or wallet if the victim resists, the victims are battered by the offender, who then takes the victim’s purse or wallet. Click here…

Community Alert – 16th District – Suspicious Vehicle/Child Luring (HZ135819)
This alert addresses a suspicious vehicle described as a black Jeep Grand Cherokee type vehicle containing 3 male black teen subjects. The offending vehicle approached a lone juvenile victim and called him over to the vehicle. The victim ran away and the vehicle pursued him, driving the wrong way down a one way street. This alert gives notice to residents in the 2nd District (Wentworth) of attempted burglary incidents which have occurred during the month of January 2016.
