Community Alert – 2nd District – Attempted Robbery/Green Line Station (P16-1-042)
On January 29, 2016 at approximately 7:49 PM, a female victim exited the CTA Green Line train station at 43rd St. Three offenders followed the victim from the train. While within the CTA station, one of the offenders struck the victim and attempted to take her cell phone with negative results. The offenders fled in an unknown direction. Community Alert – 9th District – Ruse Burglary (P16-1-040)
This alert gives notice to residents in the 9th District (Deering) of ruse burglary incidents which have occurred during the months of January and February. Suspect(s) drove around residential neighborhoods looking for elderly persons outside their home or in their homes. Once located, the offender(s) approached a potential victim and claimed to be utility workers, city employees, cable TV technicians or contractors. This alert gives notice to residents of the Morgan Park (22nd) District of motor vehicle theft incidents that occurred in the Beverly & Morgan Park neighborhoods. Unknown offender(s) have been in the area targeting Ford Econoline vans parked on residential streets. Offender(s) target this style vans because of the tools and equipment they commonly contain. Community Alert – 18th District – Wanted for Murder (HX500434)
Detectives are seeking to identify and interview the pictured subjects for the First Degree Murder which occurred on the 800 block of N. Orleans in Chicago on November 9, 2014 at approximately 2:24 A.M. The victim was stabbed multiple times at that location and died shortly after being transported to Northwestern Hospital. In one instance, the offenders followed the victim on the CTA and punched the victim about the face and head in an attempt to take her cellphone. Community Alert – Major Accidents, 8th District – Fatal Hit & Run (HZ120804)
On Tuesday, January 19, 2016, at approximately 2:05 p.m., a 72-year-old female was struck by a vehicle while crossing the street in the 6400 block of South Kedzie Avenue. As a result of the crash, the victim sustained fatal injuries. The driver of the striking vehicle fled the scene of the crash without identifying themselves or rendering aid to the victim.
