Offender Responsible for Citywide Robbery Pattern at Businesses Charged with Multiple Felonies Following Robbery Task Force Investigation

The Chicago Police Department’s Robbery Task Force has secured felony charges against a 19-year-old male offender responsible for multiple robberies that occurred across the city in August and September.

The Robbery Task Force began investigating this robbery pattern after the offender committed both an attempted armed robbery in Jefferson Park and an armed robbery in Bucktown on August 19, 2025. Upon further investigation, task force detectives determined the offender in these incidents was also responsible for an armed robbery in Montclare on August 26, 2025, an armed robbery in West Beverly on August 31, 2025 and an armed robbery in Rogers Park on September 2, 2025. In each of these robberies, the offender targeted businesses.

With knowledge that the offender used public transportation, detectives worked with members of CPD’s Public Transportation Section Strategic Decision Support Center (SDSC) and officers from the 14th (Shakespeare) District and 16th (Jefferson Park) District to track the offender on September 4, 2025. As they attempted to locate the offender, the offender committed another robbery at a business in Albany Park.  Officers later tracked the offender to Bronzeville, where they safely took him into custody. Officers also recovered a firearm with a laser attachment, an extended magazine and cash proceeds from the robbery from the offender.

The investigation also determined this offender is responsible for a robbery that occurred in a nearby suburb.

Due to the diligent work of the Robbery Task Force and the evidence they collected during their investigation, as well as assistance from the Bureau of Patrol, the Bureau of Counterterrorism and CTA Security Services and Investigations, this dangerous offender is now in custody.

This offender is charged with:

  • Five felony counts of Armed Robbery with a Firearm
  • One felony count of Attempted Armed Robbery with a Firearm
