A platform check on a Chicago Transit Authority (CTA) platform led to the recovery of a firearm and the arrest of a convicted felon.

On the morning of June 5, 2026, officers from the Public Transportation Section Tactical Team were conducting the platform check at the Pulaski Blue Line Station in the 500 block of S. Pulaski.

Officers observed the male offender, now identified as 34-year-old Marquail Stevenson, in a verbal altercation with a female. As officers approached to check on the female, they saw a partially exposed firearm under Stevenson’s sweater. Officers took Stevenson into custody and recovered the loaded weapon.
