The Chicago Police Department’s Citywide Robbery Task Force secured felony charges against three offenders who were apprehended during a citywide robbery enforcement mission. The offenders were arrested on June 8, 2025, in connection with a vehicular hijacking that occurred in the Englewood neighborhood less than an hour before their arrest.
The vehicular hijacking occurred in the 600 block of W. 63rd Street in the parking lot of a business. A female victim related to officers that after parking and exiting her vehicle, a male offender approached and pointed a firearm at her. The offender demanded her vehicle and robbed the victim of her keys and fled the scene in the victim’s vehicle.
CPD members conducting a citywide robbery enforcement mission received notification of the vehicular hijacking and worked to locate the stolen vehicle. After identifying the vehicle’s location, CPD officers and Illinois State Police Troopers arrested three offenders who fled from the vehicle. Three firearms were recovered from inside the vehicle.
These arrests are the result of the partnership and collaboration both internally within CPD and externally with our partners at the Illinois State Police. Outstanding work by CPD members from the 10th District, 11th District and the Citywide Robbery Task Force, as well as the Illinois State Troopers.
