Officers from the Chicago Police Department, as well as federal and local law enforcement partners, arrested two convicted felons and recovered nine firearms in an ongoing investigation into stolen items taken in recent burglaries in the Chicagoland area.
Gang Investigations officers gathered information and evidence on where some of the stolen items were being stored. CPD officers obtained search warrants for three locations housing the stolen items.
With assistance from CPD’s Retail Theft Task Force, the 6th District Tactical Team, the 7th District Tactical Team and the 22nd District Tactical Team, along with members of the ATF Chicago Field Division, the FBI Chicago Division, the Vernon Hills Police Department, the Glencoe Police Department, search warrants were served in the:
- 400 block of W. 102nd Pl. in Fernwood
- 7800 block of S. St. Lawrence Ave. in Chatham
- 7400 block of S. Princeton Ave. in Englewood
A search of these locations led to the recovery of nine firearms, including multiple semi-automatic handguns, stolen merchandise, suspected narcotics and more than $280,000 in cash.





Antwaun Bohannon, 32, and Malcolm Richardson, 33, were taken into custody in connection to the recovered weapons.
Bohannon was charged with:
- One felony count of Possession of a Firearm by a Repeat Felony Offender
- One felony count of Unlawful Use of a Weapon by a Felon in Possession of a Weapon/2nd+
Richardson was charged with:
- Two felony counts of Possession of a Firearm by a Repeat Felony Offender
Thanks to the multi-agency collaboration, multiple firearms have been removed from our streets, and multiple stolen items have been recovered. Gang Investigations officers are continuing their investigation into additional offenders.
