Caress Shumaker, 29 was arrested after she was identified as the person who fatally stabbed a 27 year old man. This incident occurred on March 9, 2016 at approximately 8:40 p.m. in the 2100 block of S. Michigan Avenue. Shumaker was involved in a domestic related altercation when she stabbed the victim in the chest. He was taken to Northwestern Hospital where he was later pronounced. Shumaker was charged accordingly.
