About the Crime:
This alert gives notice to citizens in the 002nd District (Wentworth) of robbery related
incidents which have occurred during the month of September. In these incidents,
offender(s) approached the victims as they were walking, pushed them down, and
attempted/ took property before fleeing the scene. In one incident, two offenders
approached and fled in a 4 door vehicle, described as being beige in color.
Incident times and locations are listed below:
0-100 Block of E. 35th Street on September 27th, 2017 @ approximately 2:35 P.M.
3500 Block of S. State Street on September 29, 2017 @ approximately 08:41 A.M.
100 Block of E. 42nd Street on September 29, 2017 between 3:20 P.M. and 3:30
P.M.
About the Offenders:
Offenders are described as:
1-3 Male, blacks – 18-27 years of age, 5’04 – 6’00, 120 – 170 lbs. One offender is
described as wearing a corn rows type hairstyle.
What you can do:
• Always be aware of your surroundings
• Report suspicious activity immediately
• If you are confronted by an assailant remain calm
• Remember any unique physical characteristics (scars, limp, acne, teeth,
etc…)
• Never pursue a fleeing assailant, provide the information to the police
• If approached by a witness to the incident, request contact information
• Dial 9-1-1 immediately and remain on scene when possible
