South Side Man Charged with Attempted Murder

Offender: Clifton Banks, 36

Residence: 8700 Block of S. Emerald Ave.

Charges: Two Felony Counts – Attempt Murder – First Degree

Court : Central Bond Court – 2600 S. California Avenue – January 30, 2017

Narrative: Banks was arrested after being positively identified as the offender who fired a

weapon striking a 39 yr old male in the head and a 30 yr old male in the left leg

after being involved in a verbal and physical altercation in the 1200 block of N.

State, on January 28, 2017 at approximately 3:27 a.m. The victims were

transported to Northwestern Sinai Hospital and were listed in stable condition.

Banks was located by responding officers on the scene and charged accordingly.

A second suspect who was questioned in this incident has been released without

charging. No further information is available at this time.
