Chicago Police Recover Over $1 Million Worth of Cannabis During Traffic Stop

The above offender was arrested and charged with the above offenses after Chicago Police recovered over 300 pounds of suspect cannabis from the offender’s SUV during a traffic stop. Grand Central (025th) District officers observed Hargett commit a traffic violation in the 1700 block of N. Moody after exiting an alley on January 24, 2015, at approximately 7:15 pm. When officers attempted to curb the vehicle, Hargett fled the scene. Hargett then stopped the vehicle in the 6200 block of W. Cortland and fled on foot. Officers subsequently apprehended Hargett a short distance away after he was discovered hiding under a porch. After further investigation, approximately 386 pounds of suspect cannabis was recovered from Hargett’s vehicle, which has an estimated street value of over $1 million. Hargett was charged accordingly.
