Three Charged in Uptown Robbery
Richard Brooks and 2 male juveniles were arrested after they were identified as the males who robbed a 23 year old man. This incident occurred in the 1400 block of W. Argyle on January 17, 2016 at approximately 12:40 a.m. The victim was outside when he was approached by four males. These males punched him, produced a handgun, and announced a robbery. Community Alert – 17th, 20th & 24th Districts – Armed Robberies (P15-N-287)
This alert gives notice to residents of the 17th, 20th and 24th District of eight Robberies that occurred in the late evening to early morning hours of December 2015. The Robberies occurred on the sidewalk, alley and streets. Multiple offenders exited a vehicle and approached the victim and displayed a handgun and demanded property. Mayor Emanuel, Superintendent McCarthy Launch Police Recruitment Campaign
Mayor Rahm Emanuel and Superintendent Garry McCarthy today announced that the City is accepting applications to join the Chicago Police Department for the first time since 2013. The starting salary for Chicago police officers is $47,604 and increases to $72,510 after eighteen months of employment. The application period is now open, and will close at the end of the day on Wednesday December 16, 2015. A written exam will be administered in February 2016 to those who apply. Business Alert – 19th & 20th Districts – Aggravated Robbery–Aggravated (P15-N-203)
Bank Robberies have recently occurred in the 19th and 20th Districts. In these incidents a female offender robbed a bank located inside a grocery store. Two Men Charged in Uptown Double Homicide
Michael Laster and Jonathon Thompson were arrested after they were identified as the men who shot and killed two men in the 5000 block of N. Winthrop on September 2, 2015 at approximately 2:15 a.m. Responding officers discovered two unresponsive males, ages 32 and 34. Both victims were taken to Illinois Masonic Hospital with multiple gunshot wounds. Both men were later pronounced. Laster and Thompson were charged accordingly. Community Alert – 20th District – Strong Armed Robberies (P15-N-164)
This alert gives notice to residents of the 20th District (Lincoln) of three Robberies occurring at the end of June and beginning of July 2015. In each of the Robberies, the offender(s) approached the victims from behind, knocking them to the ground before taking the victims’ jewelry and wallets. This alert gives notice to the Business Owners of the 20th District (Lincoln) of several recent commercial burglaries that have occurred. In these incidents, unknown offender(s) have entered business through doors or windows by force using a pry tool or blunt object. North Side Burglary Offender Charged with Multiple Counts
Marcus Jones was arrested on May 7th, 2015 at approximately 1:37 a.m. in the 1500 Block of W. Morse Ave. Officers responded to a burglary in progress call and located Marcus Jones inside. Jones had a shopping cart filled with various pieces of office equipment and was in possession of a pry bar. Jones was arrested and charged accordingly.
