Three Men Charged in Home Invasion
10Jan16 Three Men Charged in Home InvasionThe above offenders were arrested and charged in connection to a home invasion incident which occurred on the 3600 block of S. Magnolia on January 9, 2016 at approximately 12:00 a.m during which offenders entered into the apartment of a 77-year-old woman, rendered the victim unconscious and stole her property and vehicle. Evanston Man Charged in Lake View Shooting
Ralph Banks was arrested after he was identified as one of the shooters from the 1100 block of W. Patterson Ave. on 13 December 2015 at approximately 3:05 a.m. Banks was pursued by responding officers and was arrested without incident. Also recovered was a loaded .40 caliber handgun. Mayor Emanuel, Superintendent McCarthy Launch Police Recruitment Campaign
Mayor Rahm Emanuel and Superintendent Garry McCarthy today announced that the City is accepting applications to join the Chicago Police Department for the first time since 2013. The starting salary for Chicago police officers is $47,604 and increases to $72,510 after eighteen months of employment. The application period is now open, and will close at the end of the day on Wednesday December 16, 2015. A written exam will be administered in February 2016 to those who apply.
