The 16th District is made up of the following neighborhoods: Edison Park, Forest Glen, Norwood Park, Portage Park, Dunning, Jefferson Park, O’Hare. It includes the Water Management Pumping Station.
Meet your commander – Thomas Hanrahan
Commander Hanrahan, a 23-year member of the Department, previously served as the Lieutenant in the Forensic Services Division, where he oversaw the processing of all crime scene evidence and evidence submitted to the division. He also previously worked as the Tactical Lieutenant in the 024th (Rogers Park) District. Commander Hanrahan worked in both the Bureau of Detectives and the Bureau of Patrol as a Sergeant. He served as the Violent Crimes Sergeant in the Area Three Detective Division and as a Tactical Sergeant in the 015th (Austin) District. Commander Hanrahan holds a master’s degree in Business Administration from Saint Xavier University and a bachelor’s degree in Law Enforcement Management from Calumet College of St. Joseph.
