Cops and Kids Chess Program
Cops and Kids is a year-round after-school program for elementary (grades 5–8) and high school students. The program features two annual tournaments where students play alongside police officers and criminal justice professionals.
Through the game of chess, the program fosters positive relationships between youth and law enforcement, promoting peace in homes, schools, and communities. By integrating Restorative Justice practices, Cops and Kids empowers students to build respect, take responsibility, strengthen relationships, and develop constructive conflict-resolution skills.
