The 22nd District is made up of the following neighborhoods: Auburn Gresham, Mount Greenwood, Morgan Park, Roseland, Beverly, and Washington Heights. It includes the Beverly Arts Center and the Morgan Park Sports Center.
Meet your commander – Patrick Darling
Commander Darling, a 19-year member of the Department, most recently served as the Lieutenant of the Area 1 Priority Response Team. As the Lieutenant, he oversaw and supervised daily deployments and operations of the team based on the needs of the districts within Area 1. In this role, he also utilized data analysis to inform strategies to address emerging crime trends and community safety concerns. Before this, he was both a Watch Operations Lieutenant and a Field Lieutenant in the 009th (Deering) District. While he was a Sergeant, he also served in the 009th District as a Patrol and Tactical Sergeant. Earlier in his career, Commander Darling was a detective in the Area 1 Detective Division, where he focused on robberies and gained experience in Special Victims and Violent Crimes investigations. Commander Darling holds a bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice Science from Illinois State University.
