Meet your commander – Gregory Jackson

As a dedicated member of the Department with more than 35 years of service, I remain committed to building trust through strong and lasting community partnerships. Throughout my career as a CaptainExecutive Officer in the Bureau of Patrol; as a Lieutenant Commanding Officer and supervising Sergeant within the Homicide, Property Crimes, Special Victim’s Unit and Violent Crimes Sections of the Bureau of Detectives; as a supervising Sergeant in the Bureau of Internal Affairs and Office of the Area One Deputy Chief, including Operation Impact, Project Safe Neighborhoods Federal Gun Task Force, and multiple Gang, Mission, and Tactical Teams I have witnessed firsthand that meaningful relationships are the foundation of effective service and public safety. Therefore, leadership is demonstrated through service, consistency, and sound judgment.
Partnership, collaboration, and integrity must be demonstrated through action. Data-driven law enforcement strategies guide our decisions and strengthen our effectiveness. The safety, dignity, and protection of every individual we serve remain our highest priorities. Those under my command are expected to foster positive community engagement through respect, professionalism, and ethical conduct. We recognize that crime reduction is a shared responsibility, and community members are essential partners in building safer, stronger neighborhoods.
We are committed to transparency in both action and communication, and to measurable accountability that sustains public trust. Our professionalism, integrity, and courage guide our response to every challenge. Together, we will continue to pursue excellence while building a culture grounded in trust, equity, fairness, and enduring community partnership.
One Team, One Fight.
