Officers from the Chicago Police Department’s Gang Investigations Division within the Bureau of Counterterrorism apprehended and secured charges against a convicted felon who was in possession of numerous firearms and suspected narcotics.
Gang Investigations officers conducted a search warrant in the 200 block of S. Hoyne on April 7, 2026, as part of an investigation into 36-year-old Demarcus Jackson. Officers recovered eight firearms, suspected cocaine and more than a thousand dollars in cash.

Officers also located inside the residence a 17-year-old male juvenile who was wanted in an out-of-state warrant.
Officers took both Jackson and the juvenile into custody.
Jackson was charged with:
- Eight felony counts of Felon in Possession of a Weapon
- One felony count of Possession of a Firearm with a Defaced Serial Number
- One felony count of Possession of a Controlled Substance – 15+ Grams – Cocaine
The 17-year-old was taken into custody and charged with:
- One misdemeanor count of Obstructing Identification
- Fugitive from Justice on an Out of State Warrant
Thanks to the members of CPD’s Gang Investigations Division, the Fugitive Apprehension Unit and the U.S. Marshal’s Great Lakes Regional Fugitive Task Force, both offenders, as well as illegal firearms and narcotics, were taken off our streets.
