Three offenders have been charged with felony aggravated battery after being identified as the individuals responsible for attacking private CTA K-9 security officers.
On July 7, 2025, at the 69th Street Red Line station, multiple offenders engaged in a verbal and physical altercation with the K-9 security officers. During the incident, one of the security officers was pushed onto the tracks and other security officers were punched.
The Public Transportation Section’s new Strategic Decision Support Center, utilizing CTA’s camera network, pulled footage of this incident. This allowed Robbery Task Force Detectives who are embedded in the SDSC Room to work alongside Public Transportation Section members to identify and track the offenders.
