The 10th District is made up of the following neighborhoods: Near West Side, Garfield Ridge, North Lawndale, South Lawndale, and Lower West Side.
Meet your Commander – Michael Santos
Commander Santos, a 30-year member of the Department, most recently served as the Tactical Lieutenant in the 025th (Grand Central) District. He was also a Watch Operations Lieutenant and Field Lieutenant in the same district. Prior to his promotion to Lieutenant, he was a Sergeant in the Fugitive Apprehension Unit within the Bureau of Detectives and was deputized as a United States Marshals Great Lakes Regional Fugitive Task Force officer. Commander Santos was also a Sergeant in the Narcotics Division within the Bureau of Organized Crime. He also worked as a Sergeant in the Targeted Response Unit and the 015th (Austin) District. He holds a master’s degree in Police Psychology from the Adler School of Professional Psychology and a bachelor’s degree from Lewis University. He also attended the Northwestern University School of Police Staff and Command.
