During a protest at 7:45 pm on 12 April 2016 Protesters became unruly as they reached the 011 District station by climbing onto parked squad cars. Officers observed a female juvenile co-offender climb on top of an unmarked Chicago police squad car and began to jump on top of the roof, and trunk which caused damaged to the vehicle. When officers attempted to remove juvenile co-offender from off the top of the squad car, offender Robinson approached from behind and lowered his shoulder knocking an officer to the ground. Both the Juvenile and Shimron Robinson, 33 were taken into custody and walked into the 011 district for processing.
